COVID-19 Testing at LightENT
Dr. Light now has testing for COVID-19 at our LightENT office in Boynton Beach.
What is the Novel Coronavirus?
The novel coronavirus is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The virus causing COVID-19 is not the same as the coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, like the common cold.
Can I get tested for COVID-19?
Although LightENT is not an official “testing center”, we do have test capabilities. This new service is limited to patients being evaluated for ENT surgical procedures.
Can I get my results the same day?
Sometimes, depending on the test being performed. Send-out testing is generally returning results in 2-7 days. Once received by our doctors, we will schedule a Telehealth visit with you to provide the results.
Can a person test negative then later test positive for COVID-19?
Using the CDC-developed diagnostic test, a negative result means that the virus that causes COVID-19 was not found in the person’s sample. In the early stages of infection, it is possible the virus will not be detected.
